Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System has a long tradition of producing well-trained, full spectrum family doctors, 自1972年以来. Spartanburg Medical Center remains a large community hospital with a friendly staff that promotes the tenets of family medicine. Our hospital is fully supportive of medical education in word and financial commitment.

Upstate South Carolina is a great place to work and live. We have proximity to the mountains, lakes, and beautiful beaches within a 3 hour drive. Our program is accredited with ACGME, is the only program in South Carolina with Osteopathic Recognition and is the largest 家庭医学住院医师 program in the state with 36 residents. Our osteopathic-allopathic relationship really enhances our physical medicine curriculum as well as our total body approach to health in family medicine. We are proud of our rural site in Chesnee, S.C. where 4-6 residents see their continuity patients. We offer specialized tracks in Family Medicine with Obstetrics, Hospitalist医学, 生活方式药, 整骨疗法的医学, 姑息医学, 农村医疗, 运动医学, Women’s Health and Wound Care/Infectious Disease.  Currently, we offer a 临终关怀 and 姑息医学 fellowship, which is also ACGME accredited.

The Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate 医学教育 (ACGME). ACGME是私人的, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care and population health by assessing and advancing the quality of resident physicians' education through accreditation of graduate medical education programs.

Our focus is training residents to be well prepared for any number of settings or positions within the broad range of family medicine. All of our recent graduates have passed their boards on the first attempt, including both allopathic and osteopathic boards.

Our specialty provides the broadest training for any number of possibilities to make you well suited for the career that you choose.

Spartanburg Regional sponsors various training programs for residents, the largest of which is family medicine. Because family medicine is the largest residency, complemented by general surgery and the transitional internship, there is no university-style competition or the traditional tug-of-war that is common to most medical schools.

We have 12 family medicine residents per year, with six transitional interns assisting first year call to assure a manageable call schedule.
